Why Stainless Steel?

The qualities of stainless steel make it an outstanding medium to work with

Stainless steel benches offer a sleek and modern look that can complement any kitchen design. Unlike other materials, stainless steel does not fade or discolour over time, ensuring that your bench will maintain its attractive appearance for years to come.

Hygienic

Hygiene is a crucial consideration in any kitchen, and stainless steel excels in this area. It is a non-porous material, meaning it does not harbour bacteria or germs. This makes it a safe and sanitary choice for food preparation areas.

Pattern

Patterns can be used to achieve different visual effects. Multiple surface finishes can be combined on the same product with the appearance of a seamless surface, allowing for freedom of creativity and individual style for your customers.

Durability

One of the key advantages of stainless steel is its durability. It is resistant to scratches, dents, and corrosion, making it an ideal choice for a busy kitchen environment. Unlike laminate or acrylic, stainless steel can withstand heavy use without showing signs of wear and tear.

Easy to Maintain

Stainless steel benches are incredibly easy to maintain. Stainless steel will not chip, crack, peel, or fade over time.  They can be cleaned with simple household cleaners and do not require any special treatments or sealants. This makes them a convenient option for homeowners who want a low-maintenance kitchen surface.

Surface Care

Caring for stainless steel benches is straightforward. They should be cleaned routinely with warm, soapy water, followed by rinsing with warm, clean water, and finishing by wiping dry with a clean, absorbent cloth.

Minor scratches or tea stains on Satin & Classic finish benchtop can be removed with a green Scotch Brite pad. Always rub in the direction of the grain rather than a circular motion. It is recommended to test the cleaning pad on a hidden area. Meths can be used to remove fingerprints however as meths may dissolve paint be careful not to damage painted surfaces

On your stainless kitchen bench, avoid using abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the bright polished stainless-steel surface. Also, never use steel wool to clean the surface as this will leave rust stains and damage the passive layer that protects the stainless from corrosion

If you have a textured bench (e.g. Linen) dirt can be removed by scrubbing the area with a brush, you would clean your fingernails with and Sunlight soap. Then wipe the soap off with a paper towel. You can also use a wet non-abrasive pad such as Scotch Brite Non-Scratch Scour Pads.

While stainless steel is resistant to most substances found around the home care must be taken with chlorides such as bleach. Liquid hand soap often contains chemicals which may corrode stainless steel.

Care must be taken with chemical agents used for cleaning tiles and concrete surfaces (usually only encountered during the construction period). These chemicals will cause pitting/corrosion.

We do not recommend that hot pots or hot roasting dishes, etc, being placed directly onto a stainless-steel bench. The heat may result in your bench delaminating from the frame. We recommend the use of a pot stand.
